Wentworth Shire is a Local Government Area in the far south west of New South Walesmarker, Australia, just over the river from Milduramarker, on the Victorian side. Its major roads are the Sturt and the Silver City Highways. The Shire includes the towns of Wentworthmarker, Gol Golmarker, Daretonmarker and Pooncariemarker.


Wentworth Shire Council is composed of nine councillors elected proportionally. The mayor is not directly elected. The current makeup of the council is as follows:
